Increasing Service Users' Privacy Awareness by Introducing On-Line Interactive Privacy Features

Introduction The poster presented here is part of the Visualisation and Other Methods of Expression (VOME) project. The aim of the project is to explore the ways in which individuals experience and express privacy and consent concerns. The practical result of this will be the development of a range of interventions. These interventions might include a piece of software, an educational tool, or other means of expressing a privacy concept that can be integrated with the online service. One of the aims of VOME is to address this issue by introducing new On-line Interactive (OI) privacy features, which enable users to make clearer on-line disclosure choices. The poster presented here introduces the first version of a user-centric web service prototype with embedded OI privacy features.
